Join the Maintenance & Grounds team at Waves Oceanfront Resort, the largest hotel in the Old Orchard Beach Collection by Lafayette Hotels. Located right on the Maine coast – just 20 minutes from Portland and 2 hours from Boston – this is your chance to spend a summer in a buzzing, family-friendly resort town that welcomes over 100,000 visitors every year.
This is a varied, active role where no two days are the same. You'll help keep the property safe, clean, and beautifully presented for guests, gaining practical skills across indoor maintenance and outdoor grounds work. The team is international and welcoming, with monthly luncheons, an International Day celebration, and plenty of time to explore the area when you're off the clock.
Earn $15.75/hour, average around 40 hours per week, and receive overtime pay after 40 hours. Housing is available right next door, making it easy to settle in from day one.
- Painting, minor repairs, carpentry tasks, and responding to maintenance requests
- Pool equipment upkeep; keeping lobbies, walkways, and common areas clean and safe
- Grounds work: watering flowers, mowing, trimming shrubs, raking, and sweeping
- Furniture moving at the start and end of season
- Trash collection, linen transport and sorting
- Supporting housekeeping with guest special requests
- Two shift options: 08:00–15:00 or 15:00–22:00; at least one day off per week
