As a Catering Assistant, you'll be part of a fast-paced, team-driven crew delivering unforgettable experiences at weddings, corporate gatherings, and community celebrations along the stunning New England coast.
Your days will vary — some shifts are spent at the commissary prepping and packing equipment, while others take you out to live event venues where you'll serve guests, assist the culinary team, and help with setup and breakdown. No two days are exactly the same, and you'll gain real hands-on experience in American hospitality and event catering.
On top of your $16/hour base wage, you can earn $40–$80+ per week in tips, with overtime paid after 40 hours and a bonus for completing your agreed season. A $125/week housing stipend and a free shift meal are also included.
Outside of work, Newport and Rhode Island offer an incredible summer experience — from iconic cliff walks and historic mansions to beach days, seafood festivals, 4th of July fireworks, and free waterfront concerts.
