Hungry Hut Restaurant is the oldest fast food restaurant in Shaver Lake, California. Family owned since 1964 we are a fifth family who owns and operates this iconic place. We are beloved destination for families visiting Shaver Lake all year long. We are a prime destination for summer months. If you are looking to escape the heat of central California we are a place to be. We are at 5300 feet elevation in Sierra National Forest just 40 minutes drive from Fresno and Clovis ( nick named as two cities). Our restaurant is centrally located in a heart of the village of Shaver Lake. Student living quarters are also here. You will be able to walk to two supermarkets (both are located within 5 minutes of walk), post office, church, community center and all village restaurants and bars. Shaver Lake beaches and marinas with kayaks, boats rentals, fishing are located 20 minutes of walk. Beautiful hiking trails are all around to enjoy beautiful nature. We offer trails for hikers, bikers, horseback riders and off road vehicles. Our Central Sierra Museum offers free concerts and dances. We also have an amazing 4th of July Celebration and antique VW car show. Our average summer months temp are around 78F with nice cool evenings. Couple of different businesses in shaver are part of CIEE family and in the past we welcomed students from Romania, Serbia, Poland, Uzbekistan and Bulgaria.
